David Mednicoff

Professor & Chair, Department of Judaic & Near Eastern Studies

From The Chair

Compassion through cultural understanding.

Students in the Department of Judaic & Near Eastern Studies bridge the study of Jewish civilizations and cultures and the study of the Middle East and North Africa. They follow an interdisciplinary program with latitude to learn about today’s Middle East and North Africa and three millennia of Jewish people’s history and culture.

The insight, critical thinking, empathy, and compassion gleaned through your studies equips you with a unique ability to approach global concerns with a deep respect for distinct cultures.

Please accept our assurances that being listed or not has no bearing on a student's official graduation status. If a name has been misspelled, misplaced, or omitted, contact the Registrar's Office. This list includes primary and secondary majors and students who have earned multiple degrees.
