From The Chair


The Department of Classics offers students comprehensive access to the rich and diverse civilizations of ancient Greece and Rome with concentrations in Greek and Latin languages, classical archaeology, and the study of classical civilization. Students are exposed to its faculty’s richly diverse, interdisciplinary research interests covering Byzantine studies, historical linguistics, literary criticism, ancient folklore, Etruscan studies, and digital humanities.
