November 5 - 22, 2021
Opening Reception: November 5 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Unreachable Place is a group exhibition of work by undergraduate art majors at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Across a range of media and subject matter, the show centers on the idea of the unattainable: a place that can’t be returned to, a memory that can’t be re-lived, or an ideal that’s seemingly out of reach. This multimedia exhibit, including paintings, prints, animation, digital and sculptural works, provides a glimpse into the developing processes of twelve emerging artists.
The exhibition will feature work by Falhado Ali, Elise Avolio, Molly Brooks, Canaan Bushee, Julia Evans, Sara Junta, Horatio Marchione, Chloe Mclean, Jimmy Phan, Leilani Pucci, Shelby Ryder, and Madison Smith.
Unreachable Place is on view at the Herter Art Gallery from November 5-22. An opening reception will take place on November 5th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. The gallery is open for regular viewing hours Monday-Friday from 11:00-4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Visitors to UMass Amherst are required to wear masks in all indoor spaces, including the Herter Art Gallery and Herter Hall.
This exhibition was made possible with generous support from the UMass Arts Council and the College of Humanities and Fine Arts. For further questions, please contact the gallery at firstname.lastname@example.org
