HERTER ART GALLERY is pleased to present Expression Beyond Instruction: Works by Art Education Students, an exhibition of work by students in the Art Education program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Curated by Elsa Bashor, Brooke Buckley, and Mei Wu

Expression Beyond Instruction: Works by Art Education Students presents viewers with various interpretations of identity, personal experience, and journeys of self-exploration. The exhibition features an array of media, including painting, ceramics, mixed media, digital art, and sculpture. The students’ works collectively reflect their creativity beyond the bounds of traditional instruction, exploring personal narratives through diverse artistic approaches.
This exhibition shines light on the innovative efforts of Art Education students, who have embraced their studio practices as a means of understanding and expressing their unique ideas and experiences. Expression Beyond Instruction: Works by Art Education Students, is a collective celebration of these students’ deeply important work as educators and as creative individuals.
