Career Services provides advice and support for all students. Their newest program, The Versatile PhD, offers graduate students a web-based approach to finding jobs outside of academia. Career Services also provides international students advice in finding employment in the US.
Office of Professional Development (OPD)
The UMass Amherst Graduate School created the Office of Professional Development (OPD) to help train graduate students in portable skills that are essential for success regardless of discipline of line of work. The OPD also introduces students to a broad range of career options, both inside and outside the academy.

The Graduate School

The Graduate School website provides a range of information about graduate programs, policies, procedures and degree requirements. The Graduate School houses the following offices: Graduate Student Service Center, Office of the Graduate Dean, Graduate Student Grant Services, Assistantships & Fellowship Office, and the Northeast Alliance for Graduate Education & the Professoriate.
Writing Center
The Writing Center has tutors who work with undergraduate, graduate & postdoc, staff, and faculties to help in their writing on any academic genre at any point in the writing process. You can meet the tutors individually in 45-minute consultation session either face-to-face or online. At first the tutor and the writer will have an overall discussion on the writing project. The tutor and the writer can read the text and discuss options for its revision.

Ombuds Office

The Ombuds Office helps hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students every year with a wide variety of conflicts and concerns. The Ombuds Office can be particularly helpful in informally mediating disputes between students, or between students and faculty or staff, whether those disputes are academic, work related, or interpersonal. We can assist with issues of academic honesty, and can help you understand the policy and procedures for informal resolutions and formal charges.
