The Fraternity and Sorority movement at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has a long and rich tradition. As old as the school itself, the fraternity movement has supported men and women in their endeavors to be successful students.

Sorority and Fraternity Life acknowledges the part a sound fraternity and sorority system can play in supporting the overall mission of the University. Therefore, Sorority and Fraternity Life continues to strive to offer its students the means necessary to develop and promote a fraternity and sorority system that complements the greater efforts of the institution. We will assist our students in developing the skills necessary to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and standards of the Fraternity Movement and the University.

Academic excellence, loyalty to alma mater, service and philanthropy, strong leadership, a healthy lifestyle, friendship, and high moral standards are the foundations upon which we place our efforts. Working collaboratively with the national offices, the alumni/ae, the leadership, the greater community of Amherst, and the university, Sorority and Fraternitt Life will fulfill its obligations to its constituency, the members of the Greek Community, with integrity and fairness.
