Dr. Micere Keels, professor of comparative human development, will discuss her book, Campus Counterspaces: Black and Latinx Students’ Search for Community at Historically White Universities. Campus Counterspaces challenges historically white universities like UMass Amherst to go beyond making diversity statements to taking diversity actions.

In the run-up to Dr. Keels' talk, we invite you to join small book group discussions of Campus Counterspaces. Book groups will meet twice, once in late October and once in early November. Join by September 30.

Co-sponsored by the Colleges of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Education, Natural Sciences, and the Office of Equity and Inclusion.
