French & Francophone Studies

The graduate program in French & Francophone Studies offers several degree options to fit your career and academic goals, from those who seek a non-traditional approach to the field to those who want a professional degree to teach French in secondary schools. The flexible, interdisciplinary Master of Arts program will prepare you for a doctoral program not only in French, but also in history, applied linguistics, education, and more, as well as for careers in translation and interpretation. The M.A.T. program will prepare you to teach French at the secondary level (with an Initial License for grades 5-12), as well as to pursue a doctoral degree in education.
