You never get a second chance to make a first impression! In fact, studies show that students’ ultimate opinions of a course are often formed on the first day. How can you use that time to your advantage? In this workshop, UMass grad student Adam Grimmitt will provide tips to help maximize your first meeting with students. This workshop is perfect for both instructors and teaching assistants who would like to use their first day of class to help set the right tone for the semester.
