Are you interested in learning ways to make your classroom more inclusive? Given the current national climate, it is now more important than ever to learn best practices for inclusive teaching in the college classroom.

In this Learning Community, we will meet weekly for discussions and activities based on the materials from the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) developed at Columbia University called "Inclusive Teaching: Supporting All Students in the College Classroom."

The MOOC explores the principles of inclusive teaching and how to apply them in your classroom to support diverse learners. The MOOC includes videos and reflection activities that participants will complete on their own time, requiring 2-3 hours per week through the 6 week duration of the MOOC.

Our Learning Community will meet once a week, beginning the week of 8/31, and running through the week of 10/5. We will meet on a Tuesday or Thursday, at a time that works for most of the interested participants (the registration form asks about availability). By signing up for the Learning Community, we ask you to commit to attending all 6 meetings (recognizing that emergencies and illnesses happen), and to completing the MOOC activities weekly. Please contact Denise Pope (dspope@umass.edu) with questions.
