Federal Actions Support

Federal Action Supports

As representatives of the graduate student body, we are equally as committed to protecting the privacy, wellbeing, and safety of our fellow students as our university. With the new federal administration, updates and changes have been happening rapidly and we encourage students to remain aware and up to date on the newest federal actions.

Our University has compiled a list of all recent federal actions, and we encourage you to utilize this resource to stay up to date. Should you need any additional support during this time, or if you have any questions, please reach out to the GSG so we can support you, or direct you to the appropriate supports.

Red Cards - Know Your Rights

All people in the United States, regardless of immigration status, have certain rights and protections under the U.S. Constitution. The Immigrant Legal Resource Center's (ILRC) Red Cards help people assert their rights and defend themselves in many situations, such as when Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents go to a home.

You can visit the Graduate Student Government's office on the 9th floor of the Campus Center, Room 919 and pick up a red card for you, or a friend. You can also download a copy of the red card templates from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center and print them at home.

If you need further support regarding immigration, contact the Student Legal Services Office with any questions you may have.

GSG Sponsored Programs

The GSG supports and partially funds other university-wide programs and offices that are available to all graduate students.

We invite you to utilize all of the services that accompany being a graduate student here at UMass.
