John Arigbede is currently a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering, specializing in the high-pressure synthesis of transition metal carbide catalysts and liquid organic hydrogen carriers. Previously, John attended the Olusegun Agagu University of Science Technology in Nigeria. In 2021, John was designated as a West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land (WASCL) Scholar. Fun fact, John can speak seven languages fluently (including one that's endangered)!
As President of the GSG, John acts as the chief executive of the GSG and oversees all acts of the GSG. The president appoints the Executive Cabinet, the Justices of the Judiciary, and all lesser executive officers and membership to all external committees. John also serves as the President of the Senate, but has no vote.
Meet Sirsha, your GSG URMC Secretary and a 3rd-year PhD student in the College of Education’s Special Education program! Originally from India, she taught English for six years before joining UMass, where she now works as a Teaching Assistant. A researcher by profession and photographer at heart, she’s fueled by Masala Chai, a love for baking (hold the spice!), and an adventurous streak that takes her biking, mountain-hopping, and rooting for her favorite Marvel underdogs — Bucky and Loki. Fun fact: she’s also a former national-level peep-sight rifle shooter!
As the Secretary of University Relations and Media Communications, Sirsha oversees all communications related to the GSG — from campus-wide emails and internal updates to collaborations with other student organizations. She manages GSG’s online presence and social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, ensuring the GSG’s voice stays as dynamic and engaged as the graduate students it represents.
Omogbolahan is a PhD candidate in Political Science. He studies Randomized Controlled Trials, and the transnational production of social science knowledge. Previously, he attended the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. In 2025, he was one of the recipients of the UMass Amherst Ethnography Collective's inaugural fieldwork fellowship.
Tanuj Ahuja is pursuing his Master's in Business Analytics at the Isenberg School of Management after working as a Business Analyst in India. As GSG Treasurer, he manages the annual budget, travel grant funding, event procurement, and vendor payments, working with the Executive Branch and Financial Committee to keep GSG's finances running smoothly.
