Professor of Environmental Health Sciences Richard Peltier’s research, which takes place in locations such as Ghana, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Fiji, and the across Middle East, and in indigenous populations in North America, is meant to inform policy in these regions in order to reduce public health risk. “Science communication, especially in a culturally-relevant context, is an important part of what we do because it is critical to provide our conclusions and evidence to both the general public, and to policy makers," Peltier says.
