Dr. Andrew Lover: Dr. Lover is an infectious disease epidemiologist focusing mainly on vector-borne diseases and is an assistant professor in the UMass Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences. Dr. Lover spoke to the GHSA at our first seminar about his own reasons for getting into the feild of global health and experiences, focusing on his research with a vector-control intervention for malaria elimination and surveillance in Vietnam.
Ms. Randi Dermo: Randi Dermo is a representative for the Peace Corps, who joined the GHSA for our first seminar to present information about opportunities to work with the Peace Corps and answer any questions students may have. Randi shared about her own experience working with the Peace Corps, having spent two years in Ecuador as an ESL instructor. Randi found her experience to be life changing and invaluable, and hopes to inspire others to join.
