The UMass Amherst Institute for Global Health (IGH) and the Department of Health Promotion and Policy are pleased to announce the third talk in the IGH 2021-2022 Global Health Seminar Series by Dr. Hilda García-Pérez. Dr. García-Pérez will deliver a talk titled "The Mexican Health System: Diagnosis and Challenges" on Wednesday, December 1, beginning at 2:30 pm via Zoom.

Dr. García-Pérez is a professor in the Department of Population Studies at El Colegio de la Frontera Norte. She has a master's degree in population studies and received a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Michigan. Her research and teaching focuses on the social determinants of health in urban areas of the U.S.-Mexico borderlands and is driven by her commitment to understand the complex factors that explain health-seeking behavior and health outcomes of vulnerable populations through evidence-based, transcultural, and community-based approaches.
