There are essential actions to complete for final approval from Global Education. Below are tasks with links to information like paying your bill, using health insurance abroad, and logging into your UMass accounts while you travel. There is information about orientation and other online events, academics, and recommendations to travel more sustainably.

On-Campus Housing Cancellation

If you live on campus and are studying abroad for a semester or academic year, you must cancel your housing by Resident Life's posted deadline to avoid cancellation fees.  Review the Semesters Away section on their page and confirm the deadline date in the email they will send to all on-campus students.

If you receive your program acceptance after the Residential Life cancellation deadline, you must provide an acceptance letter to them within 10 days of program confirmation to waive housing cancellation fees.

If you are unsure if you should cancel your housing, contact your Education Abroad Advisor before Residential Life's deadline.

Please contact living@umass.edu if you have any questions or concerns about on campus housing.  The Office of Global Affairs cannot help with this.
