The MinuteFund is UMass Amherst's crowdfunding initiative.
This year the MinuteFund raised $184,277 for 37 university projects, including the Engineers without Borders' clean water project in Kenya in 2016. Last year, Engineers without Borders raised nearly $4,000 in gifts for international clean water projects. Engineers Without Borders is a professional, student-run organization dedicated to helping local and international communities create sustainable, community-driven solutions in order to improve their quality of life. The chapter at the University of Massachusetts Amherst operates programs in Ghana and Kenya with the focus of developing clean, reliable, and convenient water infrastructure projects.
Many campus groups and projects are supported by the MinuteFund including Club Tennis, the Center for Public Policy, the Theater Department’s South Africa trip, and the Women’s Track Team.
