Maria Stehle (PhD 2005) is Lindsay Young Associate Professor of German at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. In addition to her monograph Ghetto Voices in Contemporary Germany: Textscapes, Fimscapes and Soundscapes (2012) she is the author of numerous articles and book chapters.

Delene Case White is working on a project about women and mothers in GDR cinema and media, with emphasis on Das Fahrrad (The Bicycle, dir. Evelyn Schmidt, 1982), exploring questions of equity and representation of women as mothers in the GDR.

Alex Hopper began studying German as a first-semester political science major at UMass and graduated with a double major in 2016. His capstone project observed the historical trends in the development of the German welfare state.

Jonathan Skolnik came to UMass in 2007. His areas of research and teaching include German-Jewish Studies, Film Studies, and intellectual history.
