My name is Sarah Weise and I am a senior from California earning a dual degree in Political Science and German!

Meet Johanna Geremia, a junior from Massachusetts studying History, German, Communication Disorders, and Music.

My name is Ka Wing Cheung, and I am a Junior majoring in Math (Statistics) and History with a German minor.

Sarah Kim is a sophomore pursuing a dual degree in piano performance and linguistics as well as minors in German and comparative literature.

In Fall 2019, Mariana Ivanova joined the German and Scandinavian Studies Program as an Associate Professor of German Film and Media and the Academic Director of the DEFA Film Library.

Florence Feiereisen (PhD 2007) came to UMass twice: She spent the academic year 2000/2001 in Amherst as an exchange student through the Baden-Württemberg exchange and after finishing her Master’s degree at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, she returned in 2003 to work on her PhD. She joined the faculty at Middlebury College in 2007 and is currently serving as the chair of the Department of German.
