Tiarra Cooper receives Zantop Graduate Student Travel Award

Congratulations to PhD candidate Tiarra Cooper who was awarded a Zantop Graduate Student Travel Award by the Coalition of Women in German (WiG). This award was established in 2002 in honor of Susanne Zantop to help nurture and sustain research and publication in feminist cultural studies. It will support Tiarra in undertaking archival research at the Landesarchiv Nordrhein-Westfalen, accessing materials of the the Bund der ,,Euthanasie’’-Geschädigten und Zwangssterilisierten in particular. These are crucial for Tiarra’s project which examines the affective experiences of women who were forcibly sterilized in Nazi Germany, both in the camps and under the Law for the Prevention of Hereditarily Diseased Offspring.
