Congratulations to GSS Ph.D. candidate Tiarra Cooper for winning the 2022 UMass Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT)!
Tiarra won first prize for presenting her dissertation, "Forcibile Sterilization in Dialogue: The Affective Experiences of Women Rendered Infertile under the Nazi Regime."
The 3MT is an annual UMass event sponsored by the Graduate Schools' Office of Professional Development. It is part of a national competition. As outlined on the UMass Graduate School's website for the event: "The University of Massachusetts Amherst Three Minute Thesis (3MT) celebrates the research accomplishments of our graduate students while helping students develop their presentation and communication skills. These popular competitions have become a global phenomenon by challenging graduate students to communicate the significance of their research to a general audience, all in three minutes or less."
