Trained in geography and ecology, Qian's expertise lies in remote sensing for ecosystem monitoring, with a focus on water biogeochemistry (e.g., colored dissolved organic matters, suspended particulate matter) in freshwater and coastal environments, vegetation, and coastal wetlands.She is also interested in the human-environment interaction, employing machine learning-based spatiotemporal data analytics to model human mobility and hazard response.
