?uestlove Spins for #UMassTogether

Fine Arts Center celebrates UMass Amherst with virtual dance party featuring ?uestlove
?uestlove will offer a uniquely UMass moment in tribute to the campus’s revolutionary spirit

Renowned DJ, percussionist, producer, author, and entrepreneur ?uestlove will bring UMass Amherst together on Thursday, May 7, with a virtual dance party hosted by the Fine Arts Center.

To congratulate the class of 2020 and celebrate the campus community’s stepping up during the coronavirus pandemic, this uniquely UMass event is open to all students, staff, faculty, supporters, and friends. The event will start at 8 p.m. EST and will be accessible through the Fine Arts Center’s Facebook page and a link.
“We hope this moment will provide a much-needed moment of joy for our campus community as we close out the spring semester from afar,” says Jamilla Deria, director of the Fine Arts Center. “I can’t imagine a better artist than ?uestlove to celebrate the revolutionary spirit of UMass Amherst.”

?uestlove is a four-time Grammy winner and the heartbeat of the influential hip-hop group The Roots. Since 2014, he has been musical director for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where his Roots crew serves as the house band. ?uestlove’s indisputable reputation has landed him musical directing positions with everyone from D’Angelo to Eminem to Jay-Z. He produced the original Broadway cast recording for Hamilton. As an activist and food entrepreneur, ?uestlove is a celebrity ambassador for Food Bank for New York City, is on the City Harvest Food Council, and is a board member of Edible Schoolyard. He has been livestreaming virtual DJ dance parties to raise funds for a COVID-19 Food Hub providing school meals to NYC students who no longer have access. 
The event is presented with support from the UMass Office of the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
