The Department of Food Science, University of Massachusetts Amherst has some of the most loyal and generous alumni of any Food Science Department in the world. In order to have the alumni be a greater part of the Department we instituted three major efforts:
We developed an Alumni Newsletter which is published twice a year.
We established an Alumni Breakfast at the Annual Meeting of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), and
We celebrate Food Science Alumni Weekend annually on the UMass campus.
All the weekends have been tremendous successes with alumni attending from around the world. The leaders of the University including the Chancellor, Provost and Dean have participated in the event, as have our State Representatives.
Alumni are an integral part of the Department of Food Science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. We look forward to seeing you back in Amherst!
