
Kyle Landry, Food Science MS ’12 PhD ’16, has been honored with the 2024 College of Natural Sciences Outstanding Young Alumni Award. As co-founder and president of Delavie Sciences LLC, Landry has driven the company’s success through innovative product development, patent submissions, and strategic marketing.
Reflecting on his time at UMass Amherst, Landry credits the faculty and staff for equipping him with the skills to excel. “By exposing me to cutting-edge research and providing a robust skill set, I was able to forge my own path in the life sciences,” he says. Lynne McLandsborough, PhD, interim associate vice chancellor for research and engagement, recalls Landry’s creativity and entrepreneurial spirit as a graduate student. “He was intensely curious and interested in practical applications of science,” she notes.
Michael A. Fox, PhD, Dean of CNS, highlights Landry’s industry impact and commitment to UMass. “Despite being early in his career, he has become a leader in his field while supporting the Department of Food Science through his time and expertise,” says Fox. Under Landry’s leadership, Delavie Sciences continues to advance the personal care industry, showcasing his blend of scientific innovation and business acumen.
