Student Organizing Committee Blog

I am currently a junior in the Commonwealth Honors College, majoring in STPEC and Afro-American studies. I was born and raised in Boston and took time to study for two years in upstate New York before transferring to UMass this past fall.

I grew up in Boston, MA, on Pawtucket and Massachusetts homelands/lands. I am a Black Caribbean American, from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I am on a continuous journey, learning what it means to be of these places and of these peoples. 

I'm an interdisciplinary artist, advocate, mom, survivor, and student museum educator currently living in central Massachusetts. I've also lived in the Southwest, Midwest, and across New England.
