Will DiGravio

Will DiGravio is a Brooklyn-based researcher, critic, and curator. He is currently a PhD Candidate at the School for Cultural Analysis, University of Amsterdam, researching videographic criticism, American experimental film, and archival practice. He holds a master’s degree in Film & Screen Studies from the University of Cambridge and a B.A. from Middlebury College. He regularly reviews films for various publications. Since 2019, he has hosted The Video Essay Podcast, which has grown to include a newsletter, Notes on Videographic Criticism, and screening platform, Recycled Screenings. He regularly speaks about video essays and other found footage forms at universities, festivals, and conferences in the United States and Europe. His own video essays have appeared in Sight & Sound’s annual survey of best video essays (2019-2022) and screened in a variety of contexts, including at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
