The third and final installment of Pamela Yates's trilogy "The Resistance Saga," following When the Mountains Tremble (1982) and Granito: How to Nail a Dictator (2011), 500 Years exposes Guatemala's official history of brutality, entrenched racism and genocide through the indigenous Mayan population's uprising that threatens to topple a corrupt government.
