Research:

Our research in the Behavioral Medicine Laboratory explores how we can leverage human-animal interactions and the human-animal bond as tools for improving the health, well-being and quality of life of all individuals across the lifespan. Through our research, we aim to develop high-reach, significantly impactful, and sustainable interventions to increase physical activity and improve psycho-social wellbeing. We believe the human-animal bond has the potential to motivate positive health behaviors (such as physical activity or social interactions) by tapping into many known correlate s of those behaviors including routines, habits, social support, and enjoyment. Our goal is for our research to positively impact quality of life for many individuals through the innovative approach of leveraging human-animal interaction.
