Is Exercise Medicine? An Evolutionary Medical Perspective

On Oct. 6, 2016, Daniel Lieberman presented a Tay Gavin Erickson lecture exploring how evolutionary adaptations help explain the exercise paradox: Why do people tend to avoid exercise despite its benefits? Best known for his research on the evolution of the human head and body, Dr. Lieberman is also an expert on the biomechanics of barefoot running. Dr. Daniel Lieberman is a paleoanthropologist at Harvard University, where he is the Edwin M. Lerner II Professor of Biological Sciences and chair of the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology.
