Six faculty members from across campus were selected to participate in the 11th cohort of the Family Research Scholars Program on the basis of their promising work in family-related research.

Bachrach Discusses New Cultural Model in Second Tay Gavin Erickson Lecture

The Center for Research on Families was pleased to host Dr. Christine A. Bachrach’s recent visit where she gave this semester’s second Tay Gavin Erickson Lecture on February 21, 2013. Dr. Bachrach is a Research Professor at the Maryland Population Research Center at the University of Maryland and gave a presentation entitled, “Can Meanings be Modeled? Exploring a Neural Networks Model of Culture.”

CRF Affiliate and Rudd Adoption Center Researcher Rachel Farr Receives Grant to Support Longitudinal Research on Adoption and Same-sex Couples

The Center for Research on Families is thrilled to congratulate Rachel Farr on her recent Wayne F. Placek award in the amount of $15,000. This grant, sponsored by the American Psychology Foundation, encourages researchers to increase the general public's understanding of homosexuality and sexual orientation and to alleviate the stress that lesbian women, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people experience now and in the future.
