Dr. Fisher is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Oregon and a research scientist at the Oregon Social Learning Center (OSLC) and a senior scientist at the Center for Research to Practice, both in Eugene, Oregon.  He is also the Science Director for the National Forum on Early Childhood Policy and Programs, based at Harvard University.  Dr. Fisher is particularly interested in prevention research in the early years of life and  is Principal Investigator on the Early Intervention Foster Care (EIFC) project, a 10-year study funded by the NIMH to evaluate the effectiveness of a the Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care Program for Preschoolers (MTFC-P). He has also conducted family-based prevention research in American Indian communities, and was PI on the NIDA-funded Indian Family Wellness Project. Dr. Fisher serves on a number of national advisory groups related to prevent on science and community based research.
