Research Fellow

Kimberly F. Colvin, Ed.D., is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology & Methodology at the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY). She earned her doctorate in psychometrics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in statistics and a master’s in mathematics curriculum and instruction.

Dr. Eleni Christofa’s main research areas of interest are Intelligent Transportation Systems, Traffic Operations and Control, Sustainable Infrastructure Management, Public Transportation Systems and Incident Detection and Management. Dr. Christofa is interested in developing a lab that will focus on more efficient and sustainable traffic management strategies for urban transportation networks. With the main interest being the use of signal control systems that are widely available in cities to better manage multimodal traffic in order to mitigate congestion and the related externalities, i.e

Research interests lie mostly in the field of wearable and implantable bioelectronics: from applications of graphene and other 2D materials to wearable biosensors, bioelectronics, neuroelectronics, neuronal networks measurements and in vivo probes, advanced biosensors, biomedical devices and building next generation 2D hybrids.

Khadijat is a PhD Candidate in Elaine Marieb college of Nursing. Under the mentorship of Dr. Favorite Iradukunda. She is committed to helping hospitals and health systems build a culture of excellence that delivers exceptional patient-centered care. Khadijat obtained her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is working to mitigate the impact of power, oppression, and discrimination on the health and well-being of Black women. Specifically, she is interested in creating equitable, community-driven quality improvement interventions around grief, loss, and trauma

David Albright is a Doctoral student in social work at the Florida State University's College of Social Work. His research focuses on the coordination of care for individuals with chronic and complex clinical and social needs.

Sofiya Alhassan's current research interest is in using physical activity in the prevention of pediatric obesity, in particular, the utilization of community family-based physical activity interventions to reduce early onset cardiovascular disease risk factors (obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus) in ethnic-minority children.

Abosede Sarah Alli is a PhD Candidate in Environmental Health Sciences in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences. Under the mentorship of Dr. Raphael Arku, her research broadly focuses on investigating the health effects of air and noise pollution, particularly among women, children, and informal occupational groups in resource-poor settings in Africa. Her dissertation will collect large-scale field data to characterize the levels, sources, and variation in air pollution levels in Ghana by time, land-use, and neighborhood socioeconomic indicators. Luiz Amaral is an Associate Professor of Hispanic Linguistics who enjoys applying linguistics to address issues in second and bilingual language acquisition, language instruction, and the revitalization of native Brazilian languages. He is one of the co-directors of the Language Acquisition Research Center at UMass Amherst. Professor Amaral is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he finished his BA in Portuguese and French at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and his MA in Linguistics at PUC-Rio. He received his PhD in Hispanic Linguistics at The Ohio State University
