Mutual Mentoring Incubators

The Office of Faculty Development has launched an initiative to support opportunities for mutual mentoring.  Mutual Mentoring 'Incubators' assist faculty to identify others interested in forming a group for accountability and support in an area of common interest. OFD will facilitate the initial meetings and provide a space for meetings.  If these incubators seek to continue with additional support, OFD can assist the group with preparing an application for funding through the Mutual Mentoring program.

MM Incubators include:

Faculty with Children Group -- caregivers/parents meet to discuss issues and strategies for balancing academic life with family priorities. The group meets monthly  to talk about what is immediately pressing, how they can support each other as parents, how to identify resources, and other strategies for navigating the parent/scholar role.

Transition to Associate - There are two scheduled meetings for the Transition to Associate Mutual Mentoring Incubator (to be held in Bartlett 356):

Writing Groups - There are several opportunities for MM writing groups:

  • A Writing Accountability group to articulate goals  and share your progress with colleagues, along with writing time
  • A Write on Site group which is protected and scheduled time to write among colleagues
  • A Write and Response group to read each other’s work and receive critiques
