The Office of Faculty Development is here to help you put down roots so you can grow your community and career at UMass Amherst.

OFD’s Supporting Early Career Faculty & Librarians program comprises professional development events, social gatherings, and resources to develop your research, writing, mentoring network, and well-being. For all tenure-track (TT) and non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty and librarians starting in the summer or fall, OFD’s New Faculty Orientation in August is our first touch point with you. OFD hosts opportunities to gather and learn with your incoming cohort and other faculty and librarians throughout your first years.

We’ll connect you to support and services on campus and your colleagues from across campus and can offer one-on-one advice.

Linked below are OFD’s Quick Start Guide, new faculty welcome portal on Canvas (you will receive an email to sign in on or before Aug. 20th), and resources for early-career faculty and librarians. Also check out OFD’s programs for non-tenure-track faculty, mutual mentoring, and scholarly writing!

For more information, reach out to Leyla Keough-Hameed by email or find her at the Faculty Librarian Commons on the 26th floor of the W. E. B. Du Bois Library!
