Scholarly Writing Fellows (SWFs) partner with Rebecca Dingo, Senior Fellow and Associate Director of Scholarly Writing in OFD, in working with faculty and librarian writers across campus to develop sustainable writing practices by carving out regular time to meet their writing goals in Writing Circles. SWFs launch and lead one writing circle each semester for one academic year (two semesters) and guide their writing community by facilitating conversation, setting writing intentions, and leading the weekly meetings to meet the needs of the group.
Over the academic year, SWFs benefit from developing new connections with other writers and from having dedicated time for their own scholarly writing. As an additional benefit, SWFs also receive a stipend for the academic year. The SWF Program is open to all full-time faculty and librarians at UMass Amherst. A call for applications for 2025–2026 Scholarly Writing Fellows will be made in mid-fall. For questions, please reach out to Rebecca Dingo.
