Your IT Account NetID and password give you access to most online services, like SPIRE (UMass Amherst's online student information system), teaching and learning technologies (Canvas, Echo360, etc.), library resources, and HR services. If you have not yet received your NetID, contact the IT Service Desk.
Members of the UMass Amherst community can access the University's high-speed network via wired Ethernet or wireless. Wireless network access is available in all registrar-scheduled classrooms. UMass IT strongly encourages campus community members to connect to the University's secure wireless network, eduroam. UMass community members can securely access the University's network from off-campus locations to connect to departmental servers and other networked resources through the University's Virtual Private Network (VPN).
Classroom Technology Services provides technical support, equipment delivery, and consultation services for faculty using classrooms and auditoriums on campus.
The IDEAS (Instructional Design, Engagement and Support) team can help you deliver online content and use lecture capture technology.
The Assistive Technologies Center works with Disability Services to bring full access for all persons at UMass Amherst and offers assistive technology services.
IT User Services offers IT consulting and support services to members of the university community to enable teaching, learning, research, and engagement.
UMass IT User Services provides computer maintenance and repair, as well as support and consultation for supported applications and operating systems, security check-ups, data destruction services, audio-visual training and support, pre- purchase consultations, and enterprise services to members of the UMass Amherst campus community.
UMass IT maintains Windows and Macintosh classrooms across campus, including in the Learning Commons and Teaching Commons. They provide directions for computer classroom requests as well as computer software installation requests.

Google Workspace at UMass Amherst (similar to Google’s online tools) allows users to share files, edit documents, facilitate team- based projects, and maintain class calendars.

The TBL classrooms layout supports student-centered teaching and learning where student/faculty and student/ student interactions are encouraged by round tables and technologies throughout the room. Each table has nine chairs, three computers, a wall display, and a whiteboard, with the additional capability of hooking up student-owned laptops and smart technology.
Navigate360 is UMass Amherst’s undergraduate student success management platform. Instructors can use Navigate360 to identify undergraduate students in their courses who may need additional support to achieve academic success and connect them to campus resources through our Academic Alert Initiative. Instructors who are also faculty academic advisors can use Navigate360 to review advisee academic information and schedule advising appointments.
