OFD Faculty Focus: Manasa Kandula

Manasa Kandula
Today we are featuring a Q&A with Manasa Kandula, Assistant Professor, Physics.

What are you working on now that continues to be interesting for you?
One of the projects that I have been working on is to understand the link between processes happening at a microscopic level and how they influence physical properties in very commonly found materials like glass. It always surprises me that there is so much still we don’t know about the physics of these materials despite the fact that we use them routinely.

What is your favorite OFD program you have participated in and why?
The First Year, First Friday series helped me navigate my first semester. It was the perfect place to learn about various on campus resources to help with teaching and research. I would recommend this to all new faculty.

Any other news you would like to share?
We recently moved to our new lab space! We are really excited to start working on some new experiments in the new space.
