LEAD+ (Leadership Enhancement for Academic Departments) is a professional development and support program for heads/chairs and associate deans that covers topics of common concern to department/unit leaders. LEAD+ is offered jointly by the Office of Faculty Development and the Academic Personnel Office.
The objectives of LEAD+ include:
- Dissemination of key policy and procedural information
- Enhancement of leadership and supervisory skills
- Community building and support
- Connecting department/unit leadership to on-campus resources
LEAD+ 2024–25 Schedule
Sessions are typically offered twice monthly via Zoom during the academic year on Fridays from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.
- September 6: Budget Basics
- September 13: Leading with Connection, Care, and Challenge Through Difficult Times (in-person, separate registration is required)
- September 20: Connecting Students for Support
- October 11: Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion and Departmental Statements
