LEAD+ (Leadership Enhancement for Academic Departments) is a professional development and support program for heads/chairs and associate deans that covers topics of common concern to department/unit leaders. LEAD+ is offered jointly by the Office of Faculty Development and Academic Human Resources.
The objectives of LEAD+ include:
- Dissemination of key policy and procedural information
- Enhancement of leadership and supervisory skills
- Community building and support
- Connecting department/unit leadership to on-campus resources
LEAD+ 2025–26 Schedule
Sessions are typically offered twice monthly via Zoom during the academic year on Fridays from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.
- September 12: Budget Basics (1:00-3:00, in-person)
- September 26: Bargaining Updates & Related Matters
- October 10: Strategic Readiness in DEI: Navigating Change, Sustaining Commitment
- October 24: A Conversation with the Chancellor
- November 7: Negotiation Strategies for Leaders in Academic Affairs (in-person)
- December 5: Evaluating Annual Faculty Reports: An Investment in Faculty Success
- January 30: A Conversation with the Provost
- February 13: Student Success Through Connection and Engagement: Student Voices, Well-Being, and High-Impact Practices
- February 27: Telling Your Unit's Story with Contextualized Data
- April 10: Supporting NTT Faculty Success: Evidence from COACHE and ADVANCE
