In July 2025, the University of Massachusetts Amherst joined with other colleges and universities in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) to participate in the Academic Leadership Development Program (ALDP).

Launched in 2017, the mission of the Mid-American Conference Academic Leadership Development Program is to identify, develop, prepare, and advance faculty as academic leaders in the Mid-American Conference universities. More information about the MAC-ALDP is available on their website.

Up to four (4) outstanding individuals will be selected each year to serve as UMass Amherst ALDP Fellows under the mentorship of the Associate Provost for Faculty Development.

Applications for the MAC ALDP Fellowship for the 2026-27 academic year are due by March 23, 2026.
