Working/Writing Accountability Session for Faculty Caregivers
Facilitators: Wendy Varner, Director of Faculty Development, Office of Faculty Development, and Christiane Healey, Chancellor’s Leadership Fellow, Office of Faculty Development, and Senior Lecturer of Biology
This virtual session is open to faculty who seek dedicated time and facilitated support to focus on a particular project, whether to write a proposal or chapter, to read, to grade, to design, etc. As a caregiver with an often unpredictable schedule, there is real value in carving out specific time, if only for small periods. During the session, you will benefit from the camaraderie of being among colleagues who are also juggling multiple and often competing priorities. The session will begin with individual introductions and specific objectives for the hour together. Faculty will have the option of sharing briefly about their caregiving roles and navigating work and home responsibilities. For the next 40 minutes, faculty will work together virtually in their own home environment. In the final 10 minutes, participants check-in with the group to discuss their progress and set goals for the upcoming month.
Open to all faculty. Faculty are welcome to attend part or all of the session.
