Planning Your Summer: Research and Writing in Uncertain Times
Hosted by the Office of Faculty Development
In this “hands-on” virtual workshop, experienced local writing consultant Cathy Luna will discuss the challenges of setting and accomplishing summer research and writing goals in the current context. Cathy will share a flexible planning process designed to help you identify obstacles and some strategies to meet them; set realistic goals and break them down into smaller, concrete tasks; and, develop an ongoing, self-compassionate practice of reviewing and revising your goals as your circumstances change. The session will end with a discussion of resources and support structures for summer research and writing.
Presenter: Cathy Luna, PhD, Scholarly Writing Consultant - LunaWriting
Workshop: 9:30 - 11:00 am
Optional follow-up discussion: 11:00 - 11:30 am
Start Your Summer mini-series is four days of optional morning sessions for faculty to reflect on the semester and focus on the moment we are in, to engage in summer planning, consider current research strategies, learn tools for time management, and/or take time for writing with colleagues. Each day offers a different topic. The link you receive upon registering will give you access to all of the sessions, so you may choose when to engage.
