While we can't provide childcare for you in the Faculty Librarian Commons, we are providing a child-friendly space for you to come for a few hours, meet up with fellow parents, set your kids up with activities, and maybe even answer a few emails.
Come by the Faculty & Librarian Commons for monthly drop-in "write on site" days hosted by Rebecca Dingo and the Scholarly Writing program. If you'd like, come join the “reserved” table for the first 10 minutes and check in with your colleagues on their writing goals, discuss your own writing intentions, or get writing advice. We will have coffee, water, and snacks available!
Are you considering applying for a Professional Development Fellowship? In this presentation, participants will learn about the application process and what makes for a successful application. A panel of recent fellowship recipients will also share their tips and strategies for a successful application and a restorative fellowship experience, with time for your questions at the end.
This workshop will facilitate learning current best practices in academic mentoring, building on training developed by the National Research Mentoring Network, through the examination of case studies, group work, and reflection exercises. Lunch will be provided.
Log on to Zoom for a drop-in, online writing session hosted by Rebecca Dingo and the Scholarly Writingprogram. Join with your colleagues while you all write together on Zoom while you stay in your own chosen working spaces.
This program will focus on the skill of transposition, or transforming academic language into accessible language that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
