Leadership Development
Campus Center Room 904-08

In this session, we will apply Noble Story Group's emotional intelligence 5-Square framework to build practical personal leadership plans that we can use in our everyday work. The emotional intelligence framework offers a set of competencies that support us to lead ourselves and others through transitions, crises, and other kinds of adaptive challenges.

Connection, care, and challenge are the three core ingredients to effective engagement in adaptive challenges, as adaptive challenges require us to create conditions of psychological safety while also solving complex problems.

Each of us has skills and mindsets that support us in this leadership work, as well as mindsets that get in our way.  This session will take us "below the surface" to explore our core values which are our leadership power, and our "stuff"--our self-limiting mindsets--that get in our way of creating these conditions.

This work will be grounded in both a common university case study and your own case study that you bring to the session. This will be both deeply personal work (your values, mindsets, and what you need to sustain) and interpersonal work (building a healthy, inclusive culture together).

This session is open to all faculty and librarians.
