LEAD+: Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion and Departmental Statements
Hosted by the Academic Personnel Office and the Office of Faculty Development in collaboration with the Provost's Office
LEAD+ (Leadership Enhancement for Academic Departments) is a professional development and support program for heads/chairs and associate deans covering topics of common concern to department/unit leaders. It is offered jointly by the Academic Personnel Office and the Office of Faculty Development.
David Mednicoff and Anthony Paik will be representing the Faculty Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Department and other Unit Statements. As an important part of the Faculty Senate's effort to collect relevant data to draft a report on recommended campus practices around department statements, they will lead a discussion to get chairs' experiences and broader input around how departments have dealt with questions issuing statements on public issues.
Marsha McGriff will cover an overview of the Office of Equity and Inclusion and provide leadership insights from the executive leadership team.
Presenters:
- Marsha McGriff, Vice Chancellor for Equity and Inclusion
- David Mednicoff, Department Chair and Associate Professor of Middle Eastern Studies and Public Policy
- Anthony Paik, Secretary of the Faculty Senate, Professor of Sociology
This session is open to new heads/chairs, associate deans, and department finance managers. Please email @email with questions and/or for more information.
