First Year, First Friday: How to Support Graduate Students

Goodell Hall, Room 538

End Date

Hosted by the Graduate School in partnership with the Office of Faculty Development

One of the more exciting responsibilities you will face as a new faculty member will be your role as an advisor to graduate students. Join us to learn how the Graduate School can help you achieve your goals.

Leadership of the Graduate School and its core departments will share information on the resources that are available to you and your graduate students, talk about our research mentor training and introduce you to staff. Come by, have breakfast and learn what the Graduate School has to offer.

First Year, First Friday is a monthly forum for learning best practices for new faculty success and connecting with your fellow first-year colleagues. Each month, first-year faculty from across campus gather in person for a facilitated session on a particular area of interest. Come join us for presentations by knowledgeable colleagues and discussion. Coffee, tea and refreshments are served, and time is set aside for conversing with your fellow first-year colleagues.

This event is open to all early career UMass Amherst faculty and librarians.
