Hosted by the Office of Faculty Development in collaboration with Instructional Design, Engagement, and Support (IDEAS)
Interested in making your classes more engaging? Please join us as we discuss approaches to designing and facilitating courses that use technology in strategic, meaningful, and engaging ways. We'll introduce ideas for organizing your course content in Blackboard/Moodle, delivering lectures, communicating with students, and developing media-rich content.
Come to hear ideas and to share your strategies with colleagues. Coffee and breakfast treats will be served.
Facilitators:
Sharon Kearney, Lecturer, IDEAS
Dan Cannity, Instructional Designer/Faculty Support Coordinator, IDEAS
First Year, First Friday is a monthly forum for learning best practices for new faculty success and connecting with your fellow first-year colleagues. Each month, first-year faculty from across campus gather in person for a facilitated session on a particular area of interest. Come join us for presentations by knowledgeable colleagues and discussion. Coffee, tea and refreshments are served, and time is set aside for conversing with your fellow first-year colleagues.
This event is open to all UMass Amherst faculty and librarians.
