Aspen Santa Fe Ballet at the FAC Concert Hall
Innovative Dance Troupe Performs on April 30

Described by the New York Times as "a breath of fresh air," Aspen Santa Fe Ballet stands out as a model of what a small ballet company should be with its "musicality, athleticism, and technique-conscious delivery." Its versatile and gifted troupe of ten young dancers perform an eclectic repertoire of pieces by some of the world's foremost choreographers. This sophisticated company performs lively programs enjoyable for all audiences.

This performance is an "Arts Give Back" event: patrons are asked to bring a new or gently-used item of professional dress for Dress for Success, a Springfield organization that promotes economic self-sufficiency for disadvantaged women. More….

Kenichi Ebina Shares His Dance Culture with High School Students
Japanese Dancer Participates in the FAC's Arts in Education Program

Before his Concert Hall performance, world-renowned Hip Hop dancer Kenichi Ebina taught a class for the Amherst Regional High School Dance program. A self-taught Hip Hop artist imbued with Japanese flavor, his dance style bridges the European and Asian global interaction that is happening throughout the arts. Through this class, he successfully introduced students to the world of dance by using elements from current youth culture.

The UMass Fine Arts Center's Arts in Education program helps provide accessible events for teenagers and other school-aged children. It is essential that arts remain central to our youth's education. If you believe in the arts, please consider an online gift at the UMass development website.
