The object of this workshop is to teach participants how to go about buying a used car and (hopefully) not get ripped off. We will have at least three cars to look at for this workshop and I will walk participants through the process I take when I shop for used vehicles, or generally need to evaluate the health, safety, and condition of a car or truck. I will show participants under the hood of the cars, underneath the cars, and through the interiors identifying what the critical components are, their basic functions, and how to spot deal breakers.

Objectives:

What kind of car is right for you?

The platforms of used car shopping (FB marketplace, Used car dealerships, craigslist…)

How to set a budget.

How to spot a lemon (when to walk away).

Run through a checklist of key items.

What cars are we looking at:

2004 Corolla 200k

1993 Chevy s10 Blazer 4x4

2004 Honda Accord 2dr

How Participants can prepare:

Dress warm and be prepared to get a little dirty!

We will be outside and poking around at cars, you might get a little greasy and you might have to lay on the ground to view the undercarriage.
