Western Mass. Health Equity Summit
November 18, 2016
9:00 am-3:00 pm
UMass Amherst Campus
The School of Public Health and Health Sciences and the Western Mass. Health Equity Network invite you to join us for the 2016 Western Mass. Health Equity Summit. The event brings a wide range of practitioners, professionals, young adults, and community leaders together to take steps to advance health equity in the region by working, learning, and taking action together.
We are inspired by a vision of health equity in which all residents of the four Western Massachusetts counties are able to achieve well-being because unjust and avoidable obstacles are replaced with equitable policies and practices. Our vision is to chart a path towards increasing equity in all aspects of health for our residents. The summit encourages attendees to take information back to work in their own communities, as well as join a network to address regional issues so that we may make positive and lasting change.
● Hear from the 10-member Coalition of Western Mass. Hospitals/Insurers regarding its 2016 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and the Berkshire County Health Initiative.
● Participate in networking and collaboration opportunities.
● Hear about data, stories and best practices from communities in our 4 counties working on health equity issues.
● Keynote: Rep. Aaron Vega (Holyoke)
